5.1.1.1.6 - The repository shall have procedures in place to monitor and receive notifications when software changes are needed.
Explanation
SP uses a variety of widely accepted, industry-standard techniques and tools to monitor the repository's applications. Systems administrators and programmers at SP receive information about system behaviour and usage from a number of custom-built scripts and performance-monitoring tools built into commercial software. These tools warn administrators about abnormal activity such as broken links and slow response times. The repository records and reports software issues through a JIRA tracking system.
Feedback from the Designated Community is an important source of information about accessibility, usability, understandability, and overall system performance. As described in http://spotdocs.scholarsportal.info/5.1.1.1.5, the repository receives ongoing and extensive feedback from its Designated Community.
Systems administrators receive notices and alerts from vendors on a regular basis.
