126.96.36.199.3 - Documentation shall describe any processes used for changes to such identifiers.
SP has a systematic process for changing identifiers. Such changes are rare. The most common situation involves the replacement of an article with a new version of the same article at the Provider's request. The new copy of an article will supersede the old and claim the original identifier. The old copy of the article will retain the original identifier with “_old1” added onto the end. If another newer copy replaces the previous one, the previous will retain the identifier with “_old2” added.
